Duty Experience.
Having been exposed to an orphanage was a mix of emotions. I felt nervous and at the same time, excited! But when, I had my 1st day of my duty in White Cross. I saw the babies and their condition on the said orphanage, I said “Naawa ako sakanila na umabot sa point na, gusto ko silang matulungan sa 6 days na duty ko dito.” And then, I was so nervous when we had the chance to bathe the infants and dress them up and carry them and care for them. It was a first for me! Because in my entire life, I never had the chance to bathe, dress and carry an infant or a child since I am the youngest from my family and of course, relatives. That is why, I never had the chance to be exposed or to experience those kinds of things. While doing those things, I realized that I don’t want to hurt them because for me, they are the most little yet adorable fragile people in the world especially in the Cherubim Ward wherein that said ward caters to newborn to 1 year old. While the two other wards caters to 1-2yrs old and 3-4yrs old respectively. I experienced, playing with them, talking to them and made me question myself why are those kids in an orphanage when they are the most adorable people in the whole wide world? Maybe because, their parents have issues we can never tell. But if only their parents can realize what they could be missing in their life. I came to a point and asked myself another question that “Why are those parents who are suppose to have a child and can sustain doesn’t or cannot have a child, while those parents who do not want a child can have a child and the result, their babies are being left outside the gate of a mall or an orphanage.” That is why I realized that kids are the little angels sent by God. They are a gift to us and they deserve to be loved, to be taken care of and to enjoy life with their parents or to be with their care providers.
